Today I want to talk about the deeds that counts and deeds that last and I wanted to talk about things that I have learned. Things that the Lord has brought me to understand over the time I've been walking with him. And one of those things is praising Jesus, praising God. You know the very reason I started on here that was to praise the Lord. He said to me and pray one day that the reason man is created is to praise him. And so if we are spending our time praising the Lord we are doing the will of God the reason we were made. Now of course this world is very rebellious and they don't want to except that we were created to praise our God because they don't like God but we aren't here for that, we are here to fulfill our purpose on this earth. And part of that purpose to praise the Lord our God hallelujah. Now you can only praise the Lord if you seek him and you get to know him and that's what I did. I spend my time seeking to know the Lord and getting little things in order in my life. You see there's no use coming to the Lord if we are not prepared to get the things in order in our life, little things. And that's what I had to do I had to get little vices out, little things like anger and strife.

You know things that aren't right with God. Maybe unforgiveness and bitterness maybe some unkindness. You see we've got to clean out every single vice and no longer give back unkindness for unkindness or an eye for an eye and that's how the world is. As Jesus said: “you have heard that it is an eye for an eye”. In this world it is a tooth for a tooth but the followers of Jesus Christ arent to be like that. You see when I got the light of Christ in me he started to clean out the vices and so he started to tell me things that I shouldn't do and convict me and show me the way to get perfect in Christ. And that's what we all got to be doing. We got to be walking on the road to perfection and it can only be happening if we are seriously dedicated to the Lord. This cannot happen while we follow the flesh. You see an eye for an eye is what we have in the world so if someone is generally unkind to you, generally we are going to be unkind back. But the Lord wants us to be kind for unkindness and to not repay evil with evil. And that's what I had to learn. You see we got the world's ways of our flesh so ingrained in us that it's wonderful that when we return to Jesus and when we seek him, he will set you free from that, and he will give you his heart so that you can be kind to unkindness and no longer give an eye for an eye.

However we have to be growing in Christ not receding and spend out time focused on Christ otherwise we will be receding and will be backsliding back to our old paths and to the ways of the world. You see when you follow Christ you can no longer chase after your desires the dreams and goals. It is not going to work, nor all your endeavours. And you can't chase one thing and then follow Christ at the same time it doesn't work. Now fair enough if you want to go do those things, you go and do them, but you wont be able to follow Jesus Christ be perfected in love and working for him if you do that. You see the Lord is leading his people to his kingdom on the narrow way and they're the only people who will end up getting into the glorious kingdom of God. And so while we are chasing our own endeavors and living on the broad path, there is no way that we will enter the kingdom because the narrow gate doesn't lie at the end of the broadcast and Jesus never lead his people on the Broadway. He won't lead you to chase after your endeavors and chase after your dreams. And that's what I used to do. I used to spend my time chasing after my endeavors and chasing after my own flesh; the things that I was wanting to do in my heart and some of these things were sinful and other things are just neutral, just pursuits.

But these things don't bring you to the kingdom of heaven. They are not deeds that last and that's what I was wanting to talk about are these DEEDS THAT LAST. These other deeds burn up like smoke and they become nothing in the end but the deeds that last are the deeds for the kingdom of God, deeds of following Jesus Christ and that's a very popular message in this world is that if you want to have deeds that last then you have to lay aside your own life and you got to seek to do the will of God and the Kingdom of God so that you can have deeds that last before God in the kingdom and they won't be burned up before you and become smoke dust and ashes. This isn't a very popular message and maybe you are chasing after your deeds and desires and this world at the moment and you are not chasing after Christ and you're not living for him instead. And if you want to have these deeds that last and receive a reward in the kingdom of God and eternal life, then you need to choose which way you want to go from here.

Now I want to read to you about the deeds that last, about the rich young ruler who Jesus Christ spoke about, who had everything. He had a lot of talent that's why he was rich. He was a ruler. He was chasing after many endeavors and I want to read to you what Jesus said about him in Mark 10:17: As Jesus was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to him and knelt and asked him “Good teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And the Lord said: “Why did you call me good? Do you not know the commandments, do not murder, don't commit adultery, do not steal, do not lie, do not defraud, honor your father and mother”. And he said, “Teacher I've kept all these things from my youth”. And looking at him Jesus loved him and said, “one thing you lack, go sell all you have and give to the poor then your treasure will be in heaven then come follow me”. But at these words he was saddened and he went away grieved because he had much possessions and Jesus looked around and said to his disciples he said “How hard is it for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God”. And the disciples were amazed and said “Well Lord who can be saved!” And Jesus answered and said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter God's kingdom. And they were even more astonished and they said “Who can be saved?” And Jesus said, “With people it's impossible but not with God for with God all things are possible”.

We are not here to store up for ourselves useless pursuits and useless deeds, and deeds that will burn up like smoke and will count for absolutely nothing in the end. We are here to have deeds that last. Deeds that count. And that's what I want to talk about today are deeds that count. You know all your endeavors in this world, I used to pursue all kinds of things. I was seeking to be great in certain things. I was chasing after my pursuits and especially my talents, and I could be many things after these talents and that's what the heart of man strives after even from the very early age as a child. We have dreams of becoming somebody great one day. You know little boys and girls see role models in public. These wonderful men and women who become great people in the eyes of people. What did the Lord say? He said, “Woe to you whom everybody thinks well of”. All these things burn up like smoke and in the end these wonderful role models they get to the end of their life having achieved many successful things in life and done many wonderful great deeds and their deeds get burned up like smoke, becomes absolutely nothing before God. Because they are like the rich man who walked away sadly. They were wealthy in their talents and the things they could do. And they had too many things to do to bother to do the things that last and seek the Lord and follow him, and so they walked sadly away and they continue to live their lives like I used to and maybe you are today. And what happens is we get to the end of our life and we got DUST AND ASHES.

Now I want to read to you what Jesus says in Matthew 6:19 when he said: “Don't store up treasure here on earth where moths eat and rust destroys and thieves break in and steal. Store your treasure in heaven where moths and rust cannot destroy it for where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” You see that's where our treasure is to be if we want treasure that lasts. Medals and honour, and positions, money, gold, it's all going to become dust and ashes. It means absolutely nothing. God doesn't regard our success. He doesn't regard your medals, your money, the wonderful things that you can achieve. He doesn't regard any of it. It is all dust and ashes. It is DEEDS THAT DONT LAST. But we are not here to do the deeds that don't last because we want to be rewarded in the kingdom. We want to get there and stand before God with deeds that last, works that last. And if we are just lazy servants living in this world being foolish just doing what we want to do, then we're going to have no deeds at all when Jesus comes. We are not only going to be found lacking like the virgins with no oil in their lamp, we are going to be found like the lazy servant who just hid his talent in the ground and he didn't even put it with the bankers. And what's going to happen is we are going to end up in the place where he ended up and that was the outer darkness. And the outer darkness is a place where Christians go who do not work for the Kingdom of God, who are not interested in being holy and having deeds that last. And so in the end they stand before God and they have dust and ashes only. They got nothing, they didn't do anything for the Lord. They weren't doing deeds that last. But we're here to do deeds that last.

Now I want to tell you about what Jesus said about these deeds that last. He said in Mark 8:34. he said he called the people unto him and his disciples also. He called everybody and he said to them, “Whoever will come after me let him deny himself take up his cross and follow me, for whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, but whoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel shall save it, for what does it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous sinful generations, of him shall the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in all his glory with the father and the holy angels”. You see these deeds that last are clearly written: to deny yourself and follow Jesus. And that's what the rich young ruler could not do; he could not deny himself and follow Jesus. And that's what many people can't do. They can't lose their life for the sake of gospel. What have you given up in this life for Christ today? Have you given anything away? Have you given up any pursuits and wonderful things of this earth instead to dedicate to Christ? Or are we still following our desires and our ways!

Dear friends let out deny ourselves take up our cross and follow Jesus for he said clear: “Whoever shall seek to save his life”… (that also means saving the things you do, hanging on to your life hanging on to the things that you want to achieve) Jesus said that “Whoever wishes to do (that and doesn't want to lose them) they will lose their life” It will be dust and ashes, stand before God with dust and ashes. Deeds that last dear friends, spending time in prayer. Remember I talked about these things that I learned; to praise Jesus constantly is a wonderful thing to do. And how can we praise the Lord if we just don't love him and we don't want to go and follow him? Friends we are here to praise the Lord Jesus Christ. Go spend time in prayer, praise Jesus every day, hallelujah, and get the little things in your life in order and spend time to put out all little vices. No longer chasing our dreams, desires, goals, and endeavors and these are the things Jesus Christ has taught me and these are the things that LAST. Deeds that last. And they are gold and silver in heaven. Precious gems. Things that are going to count and you will have for eternity. Giving people a drink of water even for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Helping others in need. Seeing the least, the downtrodden, the people the world doesn't want to help. Giving kindness for unkindness is what will bring you treasure in heaven. You are doing not what the world does. Going against the rule of an eye for an eye, hate for hate, unkindness for unkindness. Go against the grain of this world having the heart of Jesus Christ loving those who do not love you and praying for your enemies, not retaliating against those who attack.

I see America is the full of guns these days because they bring in these new laws to try and take all these guns away causing a lot of trouble with many people because they want to be able to protect themselves. But we are here to be trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ and have him protect us for we are not to go the way of the world. And the way of the world is rebellion, fighting, an eye for an eye. But dear friends we are to be children of the living God and doing deeds that last. Deeds that bring us holiness in the kingdom, holiness inside because we are obeying the Lord and he will fill you with more and more grace because he sees that your heart is for him. I want to talk about the deeds of the flesh, the deeds that don't last. Galatians 5:19: the deeds of the flesh are evident immorality (sleeping around) sexual immorality, impurity (evil thoughts we don't put out) sensuality, idolatry, disputes, dissension, factions, drunkenness, carousing and things like this, I warned you and I warned you again that those who practice these things will not inherit the kingdom of God. That is what Paul writes in Galatians 5:19. now the fruits of the spirit are deeds that last.

The deeds that last are: joy, love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, hallelujah. Now against these there's no law for those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified the flesh and all its passions. So these deeds that last are wonderful things are going to bring us into God's kingdom and bring us rewards. Bring us mercy. Bring us all kinds of things because we are focused on the Lord. And didn't the Lord say that he is merciful to those who love him. What about the sinner and the ungodly? They don't receive mercy so we must not copy their way. Now many people they want to do deeds that don't last in this earth and I get Christians talking to me about things like computer game. And I want to tell you a little bit about computer games. Many Christians will come to me and say these things are alright and they're not really sinful. I want to tell you that we are here to do deeds that last and not be doing the things that don't last.

I want to tell you a little bit about these computer games and about their fruit. Now they count absolutely zero for you entering the kingdom of God, zero. Before God they are a deed that will burn up as dust and ashes they mean NOTHING. Okay that's the first thing. The second thing is they will take away from you rewards. They will take your time that could've been spent doing deeds that last. How many deeds that last do we do in a day? Or are we causing them to become null by all these deeds that don't last. All this immoral living, all these sinful ways. I want to talk about the entertainment industry that starts in America and this entertainment industry apparently want to read about here it says that the adult demographic is the fastest-growing segment of American videogame market. They say 30% of all adults are now playing computer games and the industry is worth something like 20 billion - $25 billion a year so. It's the fastest-growing sector in the US economy. Computer games are the fastest-growing sector in the economy. Now Christians they come to me and they say that it is fine I can play these games and I can watch movies and do all these things that don't count to the kingdom of God, and I tell you now that these are deeds that do not last. And not only that they got bad fruit, so why we are having these games that cause so much bad fruit in the lives of people, how is God going to give us any mercy at all in the coming wrath that's coming upon this earth. Now I want to tell you about the fruit of these video games.

Some people say that they don't incite violence, there is no proof, they say, that there's no real bad side effects playing video games and watching movies. But we know that there are. There are clear fruits about it and I want to talk about some of these fruits and the first thing I want to talk about is that video games have a rating system as do movies they have a rating system. So straight away they admit that some games are not suitable for young minds and they can cause trouble in society. So they got to rate them, rate them for older people with a more violence that they can take and not become corrupted. Straightaway we got some pretty bad fruit showing there if we've got videos that shouldn't be seen by people under 18, full of immorality and violence, full of lust, drug use and nudity. We got bad fruits here dear Christians and if you are spending your time with these things, don't expect that you're going to have anything there lasts before God. It is going to be burnt up before him to dust and ashes. Now I want to have a look at these distractions that people follow: on November 22, 1997, 13 year-old Noah died when his friend stabbed him in the chest with a knife and the mother alleged he was obsessed with the game Mortal Kombat, a video game that Christians play and they think that it doesn't bear any bad fruit and we can prove it does. We can read on: in 1999 two students killed 12 students and a teacher at Columbine and were alerted allegedly obsessed with the video game DOOM. So we've got some pretty bad things going on here and I can read on... for some more bad fruits: in October 2004, a 41-year-old Chinese man stabbed his friend to death over a dispute regarding the sale of a virtual weapon in the computer game.

So clearly we don't have anything nice or good coming out of this, we got evil! We got the demonic ways, we got violence. If they were good dear Christians, why are people fighting over things and killing each other. Nothing is good in it. In 2007 16-year-old Daniel snuck out of his bedroom window and purchased the game Halo 3 against the orders of his father and his father found out and he found where he had put it and he locked it up and he also kept a handgun where he had locked it. But one day Daniel opened up his Fathers lockbox and he removed the gun and the game and went down and shot and killed his mother and shot his father with the gun for the game. You know we are talking about some pretty evil stuff! In Russia 2007 an argument of over another computer game caused one man to to be killed. We have Gary Alcock who punched his 15 month old daughter because she interrupted him playing Xbox. Then she died from multiple internal injuries comparable to that of a car crash victim. So we have Christians who play computer games and they come to me and say, “You tell me how bad are these games, they are not.” And I tell you, “you tell me why they're not good because I tell you what they got BAD FRUIT dear friends, they got very bad fruit”. And there's nothing good coming out of this video game obsession in the West that Christians are a part of. Christians want to play all these video games and they say it's all fine and I tell you what its deeds that are dust and ashes. You will reap dust and ashes for your waste of time. You are not furthering the kingdom. You're going to end up in the outer darkness.

Now what about movies. Movies have been widely studied on the impacts of the brain and they been found to change mood mentality and thinking so they've been graded into a system of lesser evil to greater evil. Go watch them and you tell me are you doing DEEDS THAT LAST before God? Are you putting your mind on all things holy pure and righteous? Or are you watching immorality evil and sin! Now Christians think that some of these things are legalistic to preach against, to preach following, to preach being influenced and they'll let their kids watch TV the let the TV bring a their children yet on the TV we have all kinds of things that are unsuitable, trash, filling people with junk that they don't do deeds that last but become rebellious of heart and follow the ways of this fallen society.

Now you tell me dear Christians, are you doing deeds that last? Or are you just doing all these other deeds of the world like everybody else does! Now the whole world as I read before; 32% of adults in the US are playing computer games, probably more than 90% watch movies. How are we any different from anybody else, dear friends, if we are doing these things, and we ourselves are watching moves. How are we different dear friends? We are not different we are the same as them. How are we any different?

So we have to be totally separated unto the Lord today and we've got to spend our time being separate from these things and having these deeds that last, and not deeds that don't last, so that in the end the Lord Jesus Christ will come to us and he will say “well done my seventh, you have been faithful in a little I will make you faithful over a lot”. And that's what we are here to do today. We are here to hear, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” We want to our deeds to come before the Lord and not be burnt up like smoke and become dust and ashes. And we are going to be following the deeds of the spirit which are the deeds that last. As I was talking to you earlier about these deeds that last are: kind deeds for unkindness, putting out and turning away from all our vices inside, praising the Lord even we are in difficult situations, spending our time in living after the spirit, not pursuing our desires and goals, not living our lives to get the best out of life because that's what the world does. Not trying to become successful and great people because that's what the world pursues. And that's what they they teach the world to do and that's what children are taught to do. They are taught to chase after and emulate all these role models in society; these people who do many wonderful things, yet it's all deeds that will be burnt up like smoke and in the end they do not count and they will not last and you will get to the heaven absolutely bankrupt before God. But we can have these wonderful deeds that last and we can spend our time in praise to the Lord Jesus Christ, and just spent our time in living for him hallelujah.

And doing deeds that last in the kingdom of God. Now the fruits of the spirit as we read in Galatians 5:19: the fruits of the spirit are joy peace patients kindness self-control faithfulness against these there is no law and those who belong to Christ they have crucified the flesh and its desires. And that's what Jesus said, “if you want to follow me you must deny yourself pick up your cross and follow me.” Those who wish to save their life on Earth are going to lose there life. And those who hang on to their life which is hanging onto your pursuits and hanging onto your dreams, hanging onto all your endeavours, wealth, things you want to do, he says that you will lose your life. And Jesus said that those who lose their life down here for the sake of God and his righteous as they pursued righteousness of God these people will gain their life. And they will gain it for eternity and they will end up with deeds that last praise God. Now let us not be like the rich young ruler who did not have any deeds that last. He could not deny himself, he could not turn away from his pursuits his dreams his goals and his wealth as he was the ruler, he had lots of money. He could not turn away and he walked away because he couldn't deny himself and follow Jesus. But we are here not to be like this. We do not want Jesus to look to us and say, “how hard is it for him to enter the kingdom of God, it is easier for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle than for him to enter the kingdom of God”. And that's not what we are here to be like. We are here to deny ourselves and that's what I did. I want everybody to do the same if they want to have deeds that last.

Now in Galatians 5:22: finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, and whatever is worthy of praise, think about these things. Meditate on these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen practice these things and the peace of God will be with you. You see the worlds got no peace. They are playing video games and watching movies, they're sinning, chasing their desires pursuing their endeavors but they got no peace because they don't have their minds on all these good things and they don't practice them so they don't have God's peace. As Jesus said: “I send you the helper and I send you a free gift of peace which the world cannot give you and this free gift of peace is what comes from the Lord that can only come if we do our part and we do DEEDS THAT LAST hallelujah. Now are we doing deeds that last today? Or are we just doing our own deeds and having our deeds burn up before us like dust and ashes, because that is what will happen if we do not do the deeds that last. So we want to focus dear friends on being a holy, serving the Lord, doing all that he wants us to do and have him set us free from all evil and live on the right path so that we can have deeds truly THAT LAST......
